6. "POV" - 3:53 (Written By T.Fletcher)
7. "Corrupted" - 3:39 (Written By T.Fletcher, L.Christy, G.Edwards, S.Spock)
8. "The Heart Never Lies" - 3:26 (Written By T.Fletcher)
9. "Going Through The Motions" - 3:25 (Written By T.Fletcher, D.Jones, D.Poynter)
10. "The Last Song" - 4:51 (Written By T.Fletcher, D.Jones, D.Poynter)

My Review:
The first time I heard that Mcfly decided to seperate from Island Records and release their new material under their own label, I was kind of worried because going indie sometimes is very challenging for artists, the latest victim is Ryan Cabrera, whose new album fails to make any impact despite the quite good quality.

However, after listening to their first single, One For The Radio, I am quite confident that the decision of going indie will not kill this band. And it is proven by the fact that the single went to debut on No. 2 in UK chart, a very good achievement I should say for an independent release.

After listening to the whole album, I have to say that although the sound is heavier, it still sounds similiar to their previous albums, which is good and bad. Good because you really don't want to listen to Mcfly doing R&B or Hip Hop, for example. Bad because though some tracks stand out, Motion in The Ocean and Wonderland still comes out on top compared to Radio:Active.

The tracklist is also quite similar to previous albums. The first track, Do Ya, is a catchy track with a simple and repetitive lyric that slightly reminds me of Star Girl. Falling In Love is one of my favorites, a laid back track that sounds quite new compared to what they've been doing, though the pre-chorus somehow reminds me of one of their songs in previous albums, I don't remember the title...now I remember, The Way You Make Me Feel from Mcfly The Greatest Hits. Compare the line in Falling In Love "Out of our minds and out of time" with the bridge after the second chorus in The Way You Make Me Feel, "Look at us now...". Very similar, if not identical. Not that I mind...

Everybody Knows feels like Sorry's Not Good Enough, Smile reminds me of Please, Please (with the repeated words of Smile, Smile, Smile), though the lyric is very constructive and easy to relate to.

One For The Radio and POV are my favorite tracks. I thought POV would be a hard track, but it turns out to be the Bubble Wrap or She Falls Asleep type, although the chorus is rockier than those two.

I expect a new version of The Heart Never Lies, but it turns out to be the original version. And The Last Song is a VERY VERY good song. Starts out slow, but suddenly builds up to uptempo rock track, reminds me of Don't Stop Me Now, but better! Although I'm quite worried with the lyric below:

If this is the last song I ever sing
Then I’m giving it everything
I’m giving it all
If this is the last song I ever play
Then I guess its time to take my curtain call

Does this mean that they are prepared for the worst if this album doesn't work? Hopefully the album doesn't flop because this is actually a good album, although not their best.

Final Score: 3.5/5
Outstanding Tracks: Falling In Love, One For The Radio, POV, The Last Song

Wanna Test Your Sense of Humour?

Tom was saying a prayer before he went to bed, "Please God, make London the capital of United States. Make London the capital of United States..."

His mother watched him, then anxiously asked, "Why do you want London to be the capital of United States?"

"Because," Tom said, "That's what I answered in my Geography exam!"

A not-too-bright candidate for the police force failed in the written
exam. Since he was the Chief's nephew, the examiner decided to go
easy on him with the oral test.

"Who shot Abraham Lincoln?", asked the examiner.

The candidate thought for a moment and then asked if he could have
sometime to come up with the answer. The examiner told him to come back
the next morning.

When he went home, his wife asked, "Well, how did it go? Did you get the job?"

"I think so," he replied. "They have already got me working on a case".

Judge: "The last time I saw you, I told you that I didn't want to see you here
again."
Accused: "That is what I tried to tell these policemen, your Honour, but they
would not believe me."

A large notice in a shop window announced a big sale starting at 9 AM. An enormous queue had started to form by 7.30 AM.

Just before the shop was due to open, an inconspicuous little man walked to
the head of the queue. Angry women elbowed and pushed him until he was
at the back of the line. Undaunted, the little man went to the head of the
queue again.

Once more, he was shoved rudely to the back, this time with a few smacks on the face and a couple of thumps from umbrellas wielded by angry women.

The little man walked to one side of the queue and said: "If that's your
attitude, I won't open the shop at all today!"

Chemistry Teacher: "Can you tell me the formula for water?"
Student: "H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O."
Chemistry Teacher: "Where did you get an idea like that?"
Student: "You told us the other day it was H to O." (Water = H2O, sounds like H to O)

***

Teacher: "Jim, can you tell me which month is the shortest?"
Jim: "It's May, miss."
Teacher: "No, it isn't. The shortest month is February."
Jim: "No, miss, February has eight letters in it while May only has three!"

Music of The Month

Lately I've been listening to lots of genres of music I've never heard before. And I have to admit, they are really really good, which I didn't expect before.

The first name that comes to mind as the contender of my artist of the month is Jesse Mccartney. His new album, Departure, while hasn't been very successful, is the very definition of evolution. His genre changes. From pop rock like in his previous albums to R&B and Hip Hop. Quite similiar to Justin Timberlake, yet very different. You have to give this man thumbs up for what he's done in his music.

The second name, OneRepublic. As big as they were in MySpace, I had never heard their name. Strange, huh? Not until they made appearance in one of American Idol show that I finally got into them. Instantly, their music becomes the soundtrack of the month for me. It never draws boredom to listen to their songs.

Third, Shaun of The Dead and Hot Fuzz OST. Although they both are soundtracks and most of the tracks are only music, the albums are unexpectedly very good. I like Shaun of The Dead (SoTD) OST more than Hot Fuzz, since SoTD OST has lots of varieties in the OST and really blends into the movie. I can imagine the scene of the movie when listening to the songs. Not to mention the bits of dialogues cleverly inserted into the tracks. Not to say that Hot Fuzz OST is bad, it's just the soundtrack mostly consists of rock numbers that I think one and the other songs are similiar.

Fourth, another soundtrack. Now, it's a game OST, no, two games. One is The World Ends With You OST, that consists of J-Rocks. I had never really liked J-rocks, but the OST is really good. It grows on me the more I listen to it. The second is quite old, but remains a true classic legend. Chrono Cross OST. Not even Final Fantasy OST can beat 60 tracks or so of this soundtrack.

There, those are the music I'm listening to for this month. Of course, I listen to other songs as well, but those above are the most worth noting. I'm looking forward to Mcfly's and David Cook's new album.
